- the soft glowing light from the sky when the sun is below the horizon, caused by the refraction and scattering of the sun’s rays from the atmosphere.
It was a cold and windy week but I finally ventured out on Friday to find a new subject to paint.
I found it on my way home for supper, the last (and best) shot of the day.

Thanks Muriel, me too! Meaning it’s part of the fun for me too, never knowing what subject is going to fall from the sky. As the week wears on the pressure mounts. When a subject gracefully appears from heaven, like this one, the angels sing… and I get busy.

Spectacular! Amazing capture of the reflective light on the icy lake and the highlight on the distant mountain draws you in. Crisp, clean, ethereal. You took me there Peter..thank you!
The blue of that distant mountain against the yellow orange sky riveted me when I saw it. I just did my best to humbly honor Mother Nature with paint. When I do that, things tend to work out well. Thank you Joan!

Love the colors in this painting. I recognize this place as being close to my daughter’s and son-in-law farm. I’m always intrigued by the the mysteriousness profected in this setting, and you have captured it here.

My dad, Roland Wilbur, was born and raised in the farmhouse in Tinmouth next to the church. My mom and sister are buried in the family plot in the cemetery there. What a lovely piece of work. Great colors.
