Tyson Village Store May 8, 2014
Like you I reckon… I know what I know.
But for everything else… Google.
“Today, Tyson is largely a summer settlement located at the south end of Echo Lake.”
This subject presented an excellent design possibility.
And if I hope to paint every town in Vermont before I’m done, Tyson was on the list!

Thank you very much for your continued generous support of A Day in Vermont.
Giving away a free print each month is one small way I can show my appreciation.
Using random.org, I generate a random number that coincides with our Day in Vermont subscriber list. If you got this post via e-mail you are subscribed and eligible to win.
The random number generated for May was 1396, and that happens to be Christine Conklin of Bellingham, Washington. Christine chose City Light for her free print and had this to say…
“I grew up in Rutland and love the unique beauty of the Green Mountain state. I live on the West Coast and miss the brilliant fall foliage. Thank you, Peter!”
Great picture of a typical Vermont country store.
Thanks David!
Oh, I do like this, Peter! Good choice of poles w/out the wires this time also. Beautiful painting!
Thanks very much Barby, glad you agree with the “pole treatment” decision!
LOVE this Peter. The simplistic complexity of the trees is absolutely fantastic!!
Thank you Wendi. The trees were fun to paint…several layers!
This is a beautiful picture, Peter. One of my favorites!
Hi Terry, and thank you. The last painting I did is usually my favorite, so I agree. 🙂
As I have stated before, I absolutely love Vermont Country Stores and this one is beautiful!
Thanks Randy, I’m sure you will be seeing a few more country stores from me over the next few years. They are like a magnet to my artistic eye.
I like the Vermont bend in the road and the simplicity of this one.
Thanks Olivia, I think this simple composition has good energy, just like you!
I continue to be amazed and applaud how you use simple tools – water, brush, and color – to extract from a sterile photograph the essence of our shared perception of reality that registers beyond neuropathways directly into our hearts. And, thanks for continuing to make your art accessible to our screen backgrounds. I’m looking forward to the results of your visits to Washington County where I spent most of live. Happy trails, Peter!
Wow, that’s a nice comment Jim, thanks very much! Let me know if there are some specific Washington County scenes you have in mind.
I could feel myself driving down the road when I looked at this one. Thanks.
A classic winding Vermont road for sure Brian, thanks!
This is an arresting image — the building just sings in contrast to the surrounding woods, and the swing of the road makes me feel that dizzy sensation only a great New England road seems to offer. Kudos to you, Peter!
Thanks Kathy, and all the best to you for your show at the Edgewater Gallery in Middlebury this month. I saw the invitation card and your paintings are gorgeous, of course! I can’t make the reception tonight but I will be sure to visit the gallery and see your show.
Love it!
Thanks Anna!
So nice seeing you yesterday. You live a charmed life in paradise…you lucky fella.
Offer stands to visit the Jersey Shore for more inspiration . Come on down .
Pat & Ray
The pleasure was mine Pat, thanks for visiting my studio. And yes, I sure am one lucky fella. Like my dad always says, “the harder I work the luckier I am.” I look forward to painting the Jersey Shore someday. See you at Art in the Park this summer!
Awesome!!
Thanks Chris, glad you like it!
A lovely rendering of my store.
Thank you for sharing.
Sincerely,
Thomas S. Village
Hi Thomas, So glad you stumbled onto my work and this painting of your store. Thanks for providing me a great subject!
I was taken aback to discover this lovely rebdering of The Tyson Village Store. Thank you for the joy of seeing my place of business and home (I live above the store) from a remarkably fresh perspective.
Thomas S. Village,

I’ll stop by and say hello my next trip over that way Thomas. I look forward to meeting you!
