The Mill at Simon Pearce Jan 17, 2022

The Ottauquechee River flows into Quechee Vermont, cascading through town and past The Mill at Simon Pearce.

The outstanding restaurant and glass shop is a popular Vermont destination experience.

It’s fascinating to watch the artists create exquisite pieces from molten glass.

I think artists of all stripes share a profound mutual respect for each other. How could we not?

While we can’t know the “how” of every discipline, we know what it takes.

And the Winners Are…

Congratulation to our December and January free print winners!

Our first winner is Heather Cairns of Wallingford VT. Heather chose September Bouquet, and had this to say…

“I was a September bride who carried a purple bouquet! I love Vermont.  The seasons change! Woodstoves in the winter, maple sugaring in the spring, herons on the summer pond, fall colors, what more could you need? Well, maybe a creemie! Happy New Year!”

Our second winner is Jane Cornell of Pittsford, Vt. Jane chose “Northfield Bridge” and had this to say…

“I love your paintings because they personify what I love about Vermont – the peace & simplicity of this state. I am originally from Long Island and, believe me, these are attributes to be valued. The other being my favorite season, winter. Thank you very much. This is something I shall treasure always.”
Our third winner is Jenna Dorton of Lincoln, Nebraska. Jenna chose “Fire and Ice” and had this to say…
“I live in Nebraska but I love Vermont! My parents were born and raised there, my aunts and uncles and brother lives there. When my kids were growing up I’d take them to visit in the summer and we’d have so much fun! I have your print of Dorset quarry as it was a favorite spot for us! Thank you!”

Our fourth winner is Lynn Raiche Carter of Ira, VT. Lynn chose “Coming Home” and had this to say…

“I chose “Coming Home” because Ira Baptist Church is the Church I attended with my family, as a child. The dirt road between the Church & Town Hall, leads to the Fish Homestead, where 50+ years ago, my grandparents first operated a dairy farm & then later, ABC Riding Stables. Some of my fondest memories are re-lived in this picture. Thank you.”

Your “The Mill at Simon Pearce” piece just came up on my email and I stopped me right in my tracks …my mom had just been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 1996 and she wanted to go on a mother/daughter trip to have lunch at Simon Pearce. It was a luncheon that was filled with tears and even more importantly, laughter ….so much laughter! Thank you for this beautiful piece. The memories from 25 years ago are with me today.
